I got to admit @nickjonas looked at me like I was a little crazy when I got so excited about the bird - even if it was full of maggots inside. But hey, protein is protein! He came around - the legend that is he is!

People think Jesus was meek and mild. But look at what He actually did - 40 days in the desert with nothing, facing temptation at His weakest, then eventually voluntarily walking into torture. That's not meek. That's a warrior. We're made in that image. So don't stand back from your battles. Walk into them. Stand tall. Use your strength with humility and kindness, but be a warrior. The world doesn't need timid hearts. It needs lion spirits.

I've taken Hollywood superstars into the wild who've never slept outside a day in their lives. They don't come for money or fame - they have that. They come for something you can't buy. That intangible thing the outdoors gives you. Confidence, humility, connection. But there's only one way to get it: through the cold, the mud, the struggle. That's been the heart of every show I've done. Empowering people to see what they're made of.

Ive been lucky to survive some brutal expeditions, from Everest, to jungles and deserts. But writing this book? Harder than all of it. I wanted to separate the real Jesus from the sanitised version I grew up with - the meek, mild, angelic one. The real Jesus was wild and full of laughter and mischief. Powerful, gentle, life-changing. This has been arguably my toughest journey but it's been the most important one.

My kids have seen me fail plenty. TV shows canceled, expeditions that didn't work, plans that fell apart. But they've also seen me get back up. That's the lesson - not that you won't fail, but that failure doesn't define you. How you respond does. I can't protect them from falling. But I can show them how to stand back up. That's the job.

How hard can it be to set up a ping pong table in the wild with @rogerfederer ? Easier than getting many points off him! Anyway it was my dream match. I started strong by taking a small lead. Then Roger said he was "only just warming up." That's when I knew I was in trouble! Who won? Watch till the end to find out. We're due for a rematch soon, brother!

Jesus called John the Baptist the greatest man ever born. And yet in that dungeon, facing death, John had doubts. He needed to ask one more time: "Are you the one?" For me, that's incredibly reassuring. The little moments like this - the human, vulnerable ones - those are what I never heard growing up. But they're the ones that matter most. Faith isn't about having no doubts. It's about moving forward with them.

Hollywood legend @michaelbjordan remembered hating worms as a kid. He couldn't even eat spaghetti because it reminded him of them. Which made our worms supper even tougher for him! He almost threw up, but somehow kept it down. That's facing your fears head on! Respect.

Was fun to get to make @akshaykumar some elephant dung tea. Maybe not my finest culinary moment, but we lived to tell the tale and AK remained unstoppable! What a good guy and he’s stayed a good friend ever since. That’s survival and that’s the best part of all adventure…

Years ago, I crossed the Arctic Ocean in a small inflatable boat with one of my best friends. He wasn't a man of faith then. What happened in that storm changed everything for him. I've had a many moments like that - not always dramatic, sometimes just the quiet battles of life. Loss, doubt, struggle. Faith doesn't have to live in a church. I find it in friendships, in small moments, in the journey itself. The light of Christ has been the best and strongest thing in my life.

There's something about the wilderness that tests us in ways nothing else can. Jesus knew that. Forty days in the desert, then temptation came at his lowest point. That's when our choices define us - when we're vulnerable, exhausted, desperate. I've always been drawn to the person of Christ because he’s been through the fire, he didn’t avoid hard times. The battles of life are real, but so is the strength that comes from walking with our Creator.

The Berber tribe offered me raw goat testicles - part of their tradition to enhance fertility. I won't lie, it was a grim meal. I threw up. But when I’ve been a guest in someone's culture, I try to honor their customs. It's not about being comfortable, it's about respect. That's what adventure maybe is - embracing the new, whether people, wildernesses or customs.

I've spent years taking people into the some of the world’s greatest extremes on Running Wild - Hollywood stars facing heights, caves, snakes and rapids. Here's what I've learned from hosting that show, and from my time in the Special Forces all the way to Everest: running from fear makes everything worse. You think you're protecting yourself by avoiding the thing that scares you the most, but you're actually giving it power. The fear grows bigger the more you run. But when you turn around and walk towards it? Even if it's terrifying, even if you need to link arms with someone close to you, even if it's just one small step - that's when the fear starts to fade. It's hard. Of course it is. But hard is good. What are you running from that you need to face?
