She was attack by a wild elephant. while catching some water. it was stated a few days before the attack the baby elephant was taken away by villagers. while on the day of the attack maya was trying to flee the scene after seeing the animal rushing towards her she ended up being trampled by the elephant very badly she was rush to the hospital where she later died because of her injuries. but heres the shocking twist . on june 9 as maya funeral was being held the same beast that had killed her made on second attack at the funeral family stated seeing the elephant lifting and throwing the casket over and trampling her lifeless body. family was in shock but after all the incident that happened the family decided not to cancel the funeral but kept the ceremony going. it stated by others that the animal only took revenge because of its baby that was taken away. nature can be fun but never to be played with.
