Did you know that during extreme summer heat in some rural towns, people report seeing something strange in reflections… but never in real life? They call it “the Heat Shadow.” It happened to a girl visiting her aunt’s house in the countryside. One afternoon, while washing her hands at an old outdoor sink, she noticed something odd in the metal faucet. Behind her reflection… was a tall, dark figure standing perfectly still. She froze. Slowly, she turned around. Nothing. Just empty yard. No sound. No movement. She laughed it off… until she looked back at the faucet. The figure was closer. Now standing right behind her reflected image. But still—nothing behind her in real life. Panicking, she ran inside and told her aunt. Her aunt went pale. She said, “If you ever see it clearly, don’t stare too long. It notices when you notice it.” That night, the girl checked the mirror one last time before bed. And the reflection wasn’t hers anymore.
