If someone knocks on your door after midnight… do NOT open it. And listen carefully. Rule one: Count the knocks. If it’s three, stop moving. They can only sense motion. Rule two: If the knocking suddenly comes from inside your house, don’t scream. It feeds on sound. Rule three: Look under the door. If you see no shadow at all, back away slowly. Shadows mean human. No shadow means… something else. Rule four: If the voice outside whispers your name—even if it sounds like someone you love—don’t respond. It’s not them. It’s what’s been learning your voice.
