One night, I noticed my neighbor standing at her window. Just… staring out. When she saw me, she smiled. And waved. I waved back. Didn’t think much of it. The next night— Same time. Same window. She was there again. Standing still. Watching. Then she waved. Again. This went on for a week. Every night. Same time. Same smile. Same slow wave. One night, I mentioned it to my mom. She looked confused. Then said— “Which neighbor?” I pointed to the house. Second floor window. She went quiet. Then said— “That house is empty.” I laughed. “No it’s not. She’s there every night.” My mom shook her head. “They moved out last month.” That night— I waited. Lights off. Watching the window. At exactly the same time— She appeared. Standing there. Smiling. Then she waved. But this time— She didn’t stop. Her arm kept moving. Faster. Longer. Like she was trying to get my attention. Then she pointed. Not at me— Behind me. I turned around. Nothing there. When I looked back— She was gone. The window was open. And the room was dark. But here’s the part I can’t explain— The next morning… There were handprints On the outside of my window.
