But the soldiers remembered. Day after day, they relived the same fear, the same pain, the same deaths. Some tried to escape the battlefield, only to awaken back at the starting line each morning. Others went mad after witnessing their own deaths thousands of times. Then the resets began to fail. Fragments of previous battles remained. Burned ground stayed burned. Corpses appeared before the fighting even started. In the end, the war never produced a victor.
