Restoration from Ruins: A Journey of Faith
Description
Script Vidéo
After many years in captivity, a turning point came. The Persian king Cyrus issued a decree allowing the people of Judah to return to Jerusalem. He commanded that the temple of the Lord be rebuilt. The people returned to a land in ruins— broken walls, destroyed homes, and a temple that no longer stood. Yet they began again. They rebuilt the altar first, offering sacrifices as before. Then the foundation of the temple was laid. Some rejoiced with loud shouts, while others wept, remembering the former glory. It was a moment of both joy and reflection. This reading comes from the Book of Ezra, chapters 1 through 3. It reminds us that restoration often begins in ruins, and rebuilding requires both faith and perseverance.
