People don’t always choose what’s right. They choose what feels right to them. What matches their comfort. Their perspective. Their bias. And the moment feelings become more powerful than facts, reality starts to bend. Suddenly, the principle no longer matters. Only the appearance does. We forgive what we like. We attack what we don’t understand. And we convince ourselves we’re still the good ones. That’s how hypocrisy is born. That’s how cruelty gets justified. Real wisdom begins when you realize: your emotions can deceive you, your perspective is limited, and truth doesn’t change just because it makes you uncomfortable. Maybe the real problem isn’t what we see. Maybe it’s how quickly we decide what deserves empathy… and what doesn’t. Because truth isn’t supposed to depend on beauty. Morality isn’t supposed to depend on comfort. A beautiful lie is still a lie. And an uncomfortable truth is still the truth. The moment we judge only by appearance, emotion, or personal bias… we stop being fair. We stop being honest. We stop being human to each other. So, before you label something good or evil, ask yourself: “Am I seeing reality… or just reacting to how it makes me feel?” Because wisdom begins where ego ends.
