Finding Meaning in a Fleeting Existence

What if I told you that in a hundred years, almost everything you're worried about today will be forgotten? The embarrassing mistake. The rejection. The opinion of that person you're trying so hard to impress. It's a disturbing thought. If nothing lasts forever... If we're all eventually forgotten... Then why does any of this matter? This question has haunted philosophers for centuries. Some people hear it and fall into despair. They think: "If nothing matters in the end, then what's the point?" But philosopher Albert Camus saw it differently. He argued that the universe doesn't owe us meaning. Life doesn't come with a built-in purpose. And strangely enough... That's exactly what makes us free. Because if meaning isn't given to you... You get to create it yourself. Your life doesn't have to be remembered for thousands of years to matter. A conversation can matter. A friendship can matter. A moment of courage can matter. Not because the universe says so. Because you say so. So maybe the fact that nothing lasts forever isn't a reason to care less. Maybe it's the reason to care more. After all... If nothing matters in the end, what makes today matter to you?
