A city bus driver glances in his rearview mirror during a late-night route. Every seat is empty except one. A little girl sits alone in the very back of the bus. He doesn't remember seeing her board. The driver calls out, asking where her parents are. No response. At the next stop, he checks the mirror again. She's moved forward several rows. The bus never stopped long enough for her to walk there. His hands tighten on the wheel. Another stop. She's closer. Another stop. Closer still. Now she's only a few rows behind him. The driver quickly pulls over and rushes down the aisle. The seats are empty. The girl is gone. Relieved, he lets out a nervous laugh and returns to the driver's seat. As he faces forward, he freezes. The little girl is sitting in the passenger seat beside him. Her face is pale and wet. She slowly turns toward him. "You drove me home twenty years ago." The bus swerves violently. Metal screams. Glass explodes. Black. A newspaper clipping appears on screen: "School Bus Plunges Into River. Driver Survives. Twelve Children Missing." The photo beneath the headline shows the driver as a young man. Standing beside the wreckage. And among the children in the photograph is the little girl.
