Script Vidéo
Something exploded over Siberia with the force of hundreds of atomic bombs... but it left no crater. On June 30th, 1908, a massive fireball tore across the Siberian sky before exploding high above the ground. The blast flattened around 80 million trees across more than 2,000 square kilometres, and people hundreds of kilometres away felt the shockwave. But when scientists finally investigated the site, they found something impossible. There was no impact crater. Today, the leading theory is that an asteroid exploded in the atmosphere before it could hit Earth. If that explosion had happened over a major city instead of the Siberian wilderness, the devastation would have been catastrophic.
