On his twelfth birthday, Noah received a strange old pocket watch from his grandfather. It wasn't shiny or expensive, but engraved on the back were the words: "Use wisely." Curious, Noah wound the watch. Instead of ticking forward, the hands spun backward. Suddenly, everything around him froze—except for a tiny sparrow flying in circles. Then, just as quickly, time rewound by exactly one minute. Noah was amazed. He tested it again and again, fixing little mistakes: catching a dropped glass, answering a difficult question in class, even avoiding an embarrassing trip in front of his friends. But one afternoon, he noticed something odd. Every time he rewound time, the sparrow appeared, watching him from nearby. Day after day, it looked older—its feathers faded, its flight slower. Finally, the sparrow landed beside him and spoke. "Every minute you take back," it whispered, "someone else must carry." The bird had been carrying all the extra time Noah erased. Feeling guilty, Noah closed the watch forever. He tucked it away in a drawer and chose to live with mistakes instead of rewriting them. Years later, he opened the drawer. The watch was gone. Outside his window, a young sparrow chirped happily before soaring into the sky. Noah smiled, realizing that life isn't about having perfect moments—it's about learning from imperfect ones. Sometimes, the greatest gift isn't the power to change the past, but the courage to move forward.
