Witnesses described him the same way every time: impossibly thin, enormous eyes, a smile that stretched from ear to ear, and one hand slowly waving⊠without ever stopping. He was first reported outside roadside motels, standing under flickering lights around 3:00 a.m. He never knocked. He never spoke. He just waited for someone to notice him. According to the legend, the moment someone waved back⊠he would smile even wider⊠and disappear. Within a week, the witness would vanish without a trace. Their belongings would still be there. Their car would still be parked outside. But they were never seen again.
