Right now, some of the biggest creators on YouTube are doing seven specific things immediately after they hit publish and most small channels have absolutely no idea these steps even exist. If you've been uploading videos and then just walking away wondering why nobody's watching, this is going to change everything for you. I'm Marlene and welcome back to Make Money Marlene where every single week we break down exactly what's working right now to grow your channel and your income. It's six pm on a Thursday which means it's time to get into it so let's go. Number one and this is probably the most overlooked step of all. The biggest YouTubers immediately share their new video to their community tab the second it goes live. Now I know what you're thinking that sounds so basic Marlene. But here's why it matters so much. YouTube's algorithm is watching what happens in the first sixty minutes after your video publishes. If people click on it quickly if they watch it for a decent amount of time YouTube says okay this video is interesting let me show it to more people. When you post to your community tab you're pinging your existing subscribers. You're telling them Hey I just dropped something new go watch it. That initial burst of views and watch time sends a massive signal to the algorithm. Don't just drop a link though. Ask a question related to your video topic. Get people commenting right away because engagement in those early minutes is pure gold. Number two top creators pin a comment on their video within the first five minutes of uploading. This is so smart because a pinned comment does two things simultaneously. First it encourages conversation. When viewers see the creator has already left a comment they feel invited to respond. Second and this is the part most people miss you can use that pinned comment strategically. You can ask viewers a question that makes them want to type a reply. You can point them to another video on your channel. You can even tease something coming next week. Every single comment that comes in boosts your engagement metrics and tells YouTube this video is creating conversation which means it deserves to be recommended to more people. So, stop sleeping on your pinned comment. Treat it like a mini call to action that works twenty-four hours a day seven days a week. Number three and this one genuinely surprised me when I first learned about it. Successful YouTubers are responding to comments within the first hour or two after uploading. Not the next day. Not three days later. That same evening. Here's the psychology behind this. When someone leaves a comment and gets a reply from the creator within minutes they feel seen. They feel valued. And what do people do when they feel valued. They come back. They watch the next video. They turn on notifications. They become loyal subscribers. But there's also an algorithm play here. Every reply you leave counts as an additional comment on your video. So, if you get twenty comments and you reply to all twenty your video now has forty comments in YouTube's eyes. You've literally doubled your engagement just by being present and responsive. The creators who treat that first hour after uploading as sacred reply time are seeing significantly better performance than those who don't. Number four is updating your end screens and cards right after publishing. A lot of creators set these up in advance during the upload process and then never think about them again. But the smartest YouTubers go back in right after the video is live and make sure their end screens are pointing to their most recent and most relevant content. Why does this matter. Because if your new video starts performing well and people watch it all the way to the end you want to capture that momentum and funnel them into another video on your channel. Every additional view they give you increases your session time which is one of YouTube's most important ranking factors. You want viewers going down a rabbit hole of your content and end screens are the bridge that makes that happen. Number five this is a big one. Sharing your video on other platforms immediately but doing it the right way. I see so many creators just dumping a YouTube link on Instagram or Twitter and wondering why nobody clicks. That doesn't work anymore. What top creators do instead is they create native content for each platform that teases the video. On Instagram they might post a reel with a compelling clip and then say full video is on my channel link in bio. On Twitter they might share a controversial take from the video to spark curiosity. The goal isn't to beg people to click a link. The goal is to create curiosity so strong that people go find the video themselves. This external traffic tells YouTube that your content is generating interest outside of their platform which gives your video an extra boost in search and suggested results. Number six and honestly this might be the most important thing on this entire list. Analyzing your real time analytics within the first two to four hours. YouTube gives you access to real time data showing you exactly how your video is performing minute by minute. The top creators are checking their click through rate their average view duration and their traffic sources almost immediately. Why because this data tells you whether your thumbnail and title are working. If your click through rate is low in the first few hours that's a red flag that your packaging isn't compelling enough. And here's the thing you can still change it. Some of the biggest creators on the platform routinely swap out thumbnails and tweak titles in those first few hours based on the real time data they're seeing. They treat every upload like a live experiment. They're not emotionally attached to their first thumbnail. They're attached to results. If something isn't clicking, they change it fast before the algorithm makes its decision about whether to push the video or not. Number seven the final thing top creators do right after uploading might sound counterintuitive. They start planning or even filming their next video. The reason is simple. Consistency compounds on YouTube. The algorithm favors channels that upload regularly because YouTube wants to keep people on the platform and a channel that always has fresh content helps them do that. When you finish uploading and immediately shift into creation mode for your next piece of content you build unstoppable momentum. You're not sitting around refreshing your analytics page hoping for views. You're already working on the thing that's going to bring even more growth next week. This mindset shift separates hobbyist creators from creators who actually build real income on this platform. So let me recap these seven things real- quick. Post to your community tab immediately. Pin a strategic comment within five minutes. Reply to every comment in the first hour or two. Update your end screens and cards. Share on other platforms using native content not just links. Analyze your real time data and be willing to change your thumbnail or title. And start working on your next video right away. If you do all seven of these things consistently after every single upload I promise you will see a difference in your channel's growth. This is not theory. This is what working creators are doing right now in 2026 and it's why their channels keep growing while others stay stuck. If this was helpful smash that like button because it really does help this channel grow. Subscribe if you're not already part of the Make Money Marlene family and turn on notifications so you never miss our Thursday uploads. I'll see you in the next one where we're going to talk about something that's going to blow your mind. Until then keep creating keep uploading and keep showing up. I'll see you soon.
