Did you know some elevators supposedly have a floor that only appears after midnight? A hotel cleaner named Mara was finishing her shift when she stepped into the elevator and pressed the lobby button. But instead of going down, the elevator started climbing. The numbers passed twelve, thirteen, fourteen... Then the display showed zero. The doors opened onto a hallway she'd never seen before. The carpet was soaking wet, the lights were flickering, and every door was slightly open. Then a little girl stepped into the elevator. She wore an old-fashioned red coat and kept staring at the floor. Mara asked, "Are you lost?" The girl whispered, "I can't find my room." Before Mara could answer, every button lit up at once. Then the elevator phone started ringing. Mara picked it up. A man's voice said, "Whatever you do, don't look at the mirror." Mara froze. The girl slowly raised her head... But Mara could already see her reflection in the elevator's mirrored wall. There was no little girl standing beside her. Instead, the reflection showed Mara completely alone... And behind her was a tall woman in a red coat. The doors slammed shut. When they reopened, Mara was back in the lobby. She ran to the front desk and described what happened. The manager went pale. Then he pulled out an old newspaper clipping. It showed a woman and her daughter who had disappeared inside that hotel fifty years earlier. Both were wearing red coats. But Mara noticed something worse. In the photograph, the little girl was pointing directly at her. And beneath the picture, a new caption had appeared: "One room is still waiting."
