The Second Moon The town had never seen anything like it. Just after sunset, a second moon appeared beside the real one. It was smaller. Red. Perfectly still. People filled the streets, pointing their phones at the sky. Scientists called it an illusion. By morning, thousands of people were gone. No bodies. No clues. Only empty clothes where they had been sleeping. The government issued one warning: "Do not look at the red moon." Everyone obeyed. Except Liam. He wanted proof. One night, he climbed onto his roof and stared at the red moon. One second. Five. Ten. Nothing happened. He laughed and went back inside. Then he noticed something strange. The shadows in his house were facing the wrong direction. His reflection smiled before he did. Outside, every dog was staring at his window. At midnight, a voice came from above. Not from the sky— From the red moon itself. "I see you now." The lights went out. The next morning, Liam's family found his room empty. The window was open. On the floor lay only his clothes.
