The Monkey Who Saved His Enemy Milo the monkey could have escaped. But then he heard a tiger cub crying for help. A violent storm had thrown the little tiger into a deep ravine, and the rising water was quickly surrounding him. Milo hesitated. Tigers had chased his family for years. He could leave the cub behind, and nobody would ever know. But Milo could not ignore someone in danger. He tied several jungle vines together and lowered them into the ravine. The cub tried to climb, but the muddy wall collapsed beneath his paws. Milo climbed down, wrapped the vine around the cub and began pulling him toward safety. Then the vine started to break. A powerful roar suddenly echoed through the storm. The cub’s mother had arrived. Milo expected her to attack him. Instead, the tiger grabbed the vine and helped pull them both from the water.
