The Magical Sea of Stars in the Maldives!
Description
Script Vidéo
This ocean looks like it's filled with millions of glowing blue stars. But those lights aren't coming from the sky. They're alive. On certain nights in the Maldives, waves can suddenly glow electric blue as they crash onto the beach. Even footsteps through the shallow water can leave trails of blue light behind. It looks almost impossible. But the glow comes from microscopic organisms in the ocean called dinoflagellates. When the water around them is disturbed by waves or movement, they can produce flashes of blue light through a chemical reaction. With enough of them in the water, an ordinary dark beach can transform into what people call a Sea of Stars. And because the conditions have to be just right, there's no guarantee you'll see it. What looks like stars falling into the ocean⊠is actually living light. Follow Beyond Known for real places on Earth that don't seem real.
