For three nights, someone knocked on my front door at exactly 3:17 AM. Three knocks. Every night. The first night, I ignored it. The second night, I looked through the peephole. Nobody was there. On the third night, I heard a voice. “Please… let me in.” It was my daughter's voice. But my daughter was away at college. I called her. She answered immediately. “Dad?” I whispered, “Are you outside?” She went silent. Then she said: “Dad… I'm home.” I looked down the hallway. My daughter's bedroom door was slightly open. I hadn't noticed it before. Then I heard three knocks. Not from the front door. From inside her bedroom. I slowly walked toward it. The door opened by itself.
