In Japan, some people say if the last train stops between stations… never look inside the empty carriage. One college student named Kenji always stayed late at work. Every night, he took the last train home. One night, he noticed something strange. The train stopped in the middle of a dark tunnel. The lights flickered. Then the driver made an announcement. “Please remain seated. There is someone on the tracks.” Kenji looked out the window. At first, he saw nothing. Then he heard a knock. Three slow knocks against the glass. Everyone on the train turned toward the sound. But there was nothing outside. Then an old woman sitting across from Kenji whispered, “Don't look at the reflection.” Kenji froze. Slowly, he looked at the window. The reflection showed everyone sitting inside the train. Everyone… except him. Kenji looked down. His seat was empty. Then the old woman smiled. “You were the one on the tracks.”
