I won’t highlight the accomplishments today. I’ll honor the fact that I’m still here. This year was extremely challenging and so so painful it dismantled me. There were months where I was physically present but mentally gone. Numb, detached, dissociated. Going through life on autopilot just to survive the day. I smiled when I had nothing left inside, showed up when I was already breaking, and carried pain I couldn’t put into words. There were nights I cried myself to sleep and mornings I had to convince myself to keep going. Yet somehow, through all of it, God never let go of me, even when I felt like I had let go of myself. Through His mercy, I learned how to breathe again. Slowly, painfully, I am gluing myself back together, piece by fragile piece. p.s. I'm okay now, the past few days gave me time to reflect and I feel really proud for surviving this year. I know I never want to experience this kind of pain again but if it does happen again, I'm comforted by the fact that I will be able to get through it just like how I did this year.
