The $12.2 Billion Gulf War Oil Windfall Controversy in Nigeria How excess oil revenues during the Gulf War sparked one of Nigeria’s most debated financial controversies. One of the most debated financial controversies in Nigeria’s modern history involves the alleged disappearance or mismanagement of $12.2 billion in oil windfall revenues during the early 1990s. The funds were generated during a period of rising global oil prices triggered by the Gulf War between 1990 and 1991. The issue occurred during the military administration of Ibrahim Babangida, who ruled Nigeria as Head of State from 1985 to 1993. The controversy also involved the then Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Abdulkadir Ahmed. Despite investigations, including a government inquiry known as the Pius Okigbo Panel Report, the full details of how the money was spent have remained controversial and politically debated for decades. Background: Oil Windfall During the Gulf War Nigeria’s economy relies heavily on oil exports. During the Gulf War (1990–1991), disruptions in global oil supply caused crude oil prices to rise significantly. As one of the world’s major oil producers, Nigeria experienced a sudden surge in revenue. The federal government reportedly generated billions of dollars in excess earnings from crude oil sales during this period. These additional funds were expected to be deposited into a special account known as the “oil windfall account.” The purpose of this account was to manage the extra revenue outside normal budget projections, ensuring that it could be used for national development or economic stabilization. However, controversy later emerged when it was discovered that a large portion of the funds had been spent without clear documentation or legislative approval. The $12.2 Billion Question The figure $12.2 billion became widely cited in Nigerian media and political discussions as the amount of oil windfall revenue that could not be properly accounted for. The issue gained national attention in the mid-1990s when questions were raised about how the funds had been utilized. Critics argued that the money had been spent through extra-budgetary expenditures, meaning spending that occurred outside the normal government budget process. During this period, Ibrahim Babangida’s military government exercised significant executive power, and financial decisions were often centralized within the military administration. The controversy therefore centered on whether the money had been properly authorized or whether it had been mismanaged. The Pius Okigbo Panel Investigation In 1994, the military government that succeeded Babangida established a special investigative committee to examine the matter. The panel was chaired by respected economist Pius Okigbo, leading to what became known as the Pius Okigbo Panel Report. The panel examined financial records and testimonies from officials involved in the management of the oil windfall funds. Key Findings The report concluded that: The $12.2 billion oil windfall had been largely spent. Many of the expenditures were carried out without proper constitutional authorization. The funds were used for “special projects” and extra-budgetary spending directed by the military administration. However, the report did not provide a detailed public breakdown of all expenditures. Furthermore, the document itself remained largely unpublished for many years, which contributed to ongoing speculation and political debate. Sources P.M. Under Donald Trump, a legitimate leader of a country has been k!lled by America. Under Trump, a legitimate leader of a country has been illegitimately arrested by America and brought to stand trial illegally in America. If I am a betting person, I will bet on the imminent inevitability of a Third World War. Reckless abuse of power always precedes a full scale war. Since Trump's return to the White House, there has been flagrant and indiscriminate abuse of military power and open desecration of sovereignty. Even my dear country, Nigeria, was not spared. She had a taste of Trump's affinity to abuse her military might on December 25th 2025. However, last Saturday, this recklessness and blatant disregard of a nation's sovereignty took a new dimension when America and Israel assassinated the Supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran does not pose a military threat to United States of America. If Israel believes Iran is a threat to her strategic existence in the middle East I believe Iran and Israel should have been allowed to sort out themselves without America or any other country's interference. What other nations of the world should strive to do in such occurrence is to mediate and not to openly take sides. Our Igbo ancestors advised, when two people are quarrelling the job of a third party is to find peace. There was already a negotiation talks between Iran, Israel and America to address some of these geo-political concerns in the Middle East. So, why will Israel and America, who was acting like an unbiased umpire in an ongoing negotiation, turn around and unleash mayhem on the other party? Clearly, we have seen peace under Donald J Trump is not an option despite he campaigned and won election with the promised to put an end to the endless cycle of out-station military battles by the US. Trump is exactly the opposite of whatever he says. This is why I am fully persuaded despite Trump has promised under his watch America will not go to war, it will be under Trump that a full scale world war may eventually begin. Ezeikolomuo

Rev Father Mbaka has cleared the air about the wrong finger-pointing that he was the one who wanted to stop Evangelist Ebuka Obi from preaching in Enugu state stadium. He said he loves Ebuka Obi and God in heaven can bear him a witness that he never thinks negatively towards that young man but all of a sudden, he started avoiding him and his calls without having any issue with him. Ebuka used to come to Adoration Ministry and also called him his spiritual father, so he Mbaka don't know where the issue started. He further said that, even when he came back from the monastery after the bishop of Enugu state suspended him, he called Ebuka many times but Ebuka didn't pick up. That's when he told Nna Nna to call Ebuka for him and immediately Ebuka picked up Nna Nna's call. He said, you coming to Enugu is not a competition of crowd pulling but calling down holy spirit and winning souls for christ not pointing fingers. You didn't invite the governor of Enugu state and he refused to come, so why make it look as if the governor is against your coming?. He went further and dropped a parable which says, a child that wants to become a king should not kpai his father by making people hate his father. He advised Ebuka to apply wisdom in God's calling and stop indirectly instigating divisions in the body of Christ Mbaka said a lot about Ebuka Obi and he said everything about him from a place of love.

99% of widows know why their husband kpaid, a lot of widows are widows by choice, they know what happened, if you doubt me consult your village deity and host event to reward widows, when they come forward ask them to take oat they have no hand in their husband's death you'll understand. Not every widows is a widow by circumstance, alot of them are widows by choice, they planned it and executed it, they got rid of the innocent man to enjoy his wealth or to continue their ashawoism, Many of them kpaid their husband so that they will enjoy total freedom, they want to become sheep without herder, they want to enjoy uncountable number of preeqs on the streets! Any village or community you see alot of widows check very well there is high rate of promiscuous vvomen in that community, vvo-men that wants to control innocent men badly and if they fail they will swing into action to kpai the innocent man, some will start poisoning him gradually while some will hire hit men to do the dirty job for them, some are very diabolical they know all the babalawo houses in that community, don't believe me you will learn a very hard lesson soon, wait until you kpai. Not every widows deserves my one naira, some just need "eh ya, so sorry ma, it's well, God will help you" and i will move, some just need your holy heavenly ordained preeq to thoroughly vaaannddalize them and disappear like nollywood ghost, add to their mis-ery then disappear my brother but just be very careful piping a widow anyway, consult your deity before you jump on the vandalisation exercise because these widows use charm now to tie men down @iamindiscov. Marriage is better when she's less than 25—that's the golden window to marry a woman, when she's yet to learn the hard way from numerous failed relationships with different innocent men and toxicity. Marrying a younger woman is beneficial to the man: her eggs will be intact, smooth childbirth with no complications, better control, submission, taming, and many more benefits. Marrying a younger woman under 25 who is a virgin is like buying a brand-new car. Marrying one who is not a virgin but has a very low body count and remains unexposed is like buying a fairly used car. But when it comes to marrying a 33+ woman? My brother, it's like going to any ngbuka market (scrap market) to buy an overused, scrapped car—you'll spend all your money, and it still won't get fixed. You're not wiser than the men who discarded that car. You're not wiser than those men who saw the overused car and never bought it. It is more honorable to go for a brand-new car than to settle for an overused one. Don't be a f0olish man! Most of us here—our mothers got married at the age of 18–21. You're not wiser than your father. Ensure you pick a wife who is innocent and has not toured the world and beyond, bounced around, and sucked different preqs. The younger the better, the older the damage. by iamindiscov Sermons over!

There are only two functional airports in the South East: Enugu, which happens to be the busiest in the region, and Imo Airport. Anambra Airport is only slightly better than Ebonyi Airport. Can you imagine, only two airlines operate there: Air Peace and United Nigeria Airline? And the funny thing is, they don’t fly every day. You can check some days, there are no flights at all from either Lagos or Abuja. To make matters worse, flights to Anambra are more expensive than flights to Asaba, Enugu, or Owerri. Just recently, I wanted to travel to Onitsha, so I tried to book a flight to Anambra from Lagos. Could you believe that on the day I scheduled my travel, there were no flights to Anambra, while flights to Asaba and Enugu were available? I checked other days and was lucky to find one with a flight to Anambra. And guess what, the ticket from Lagos to Asaba or Enugu was ₦103,000, while Lagos to Anambra cost ₦130,000. This makes me wonder: if all states in Nigeria truly need an airport, considering what I’ve observed at Anambra Airport, who knows how Abia Airport will fare once completed? The truth is, with Asaba, Enugu, Owerri, and Port Harcourt airports already in operation, I don’t think the South East really needs any additional airports.

But nobody listened. On a cold January morning in 2007, at just 21 years old, Amara was hanged. Not for a crime he committed, but for trusting the wrong person. Source: Historylovers

There's one big life hack lesson that experience taught me. I wish to reshare again. Make sure you stand your ground before extending hand. When you board a flight, they will tell you to help yourself before another person during emergency. It's not selfishness but how life should be. Sometime ago, I got a contract from the UK and also Germany. I was very happy. At least, it would be an opportunity to raise some money to fast track projects on my mind. When money was money, what's on my letter as salary monthly was around going by exchange rate then 800k. That's years ago. The beautiful thing is that both companies in these countries are partners but the assignments are different, and the pay are different. This work required translation. It's Igbo and one of those rare projects that come but once in a lifetime. I would be in Nigeria, but could travel to both countries when the need arises. Out of excitement, I told someone I saw as friend whom I had worked with in the past as he managed the Yoruba language, while I managed Igbo. I saw him as a partner and friend while he saw me as a competitor who should be kicked out of the market— always my experience. He asked if I could make inquiry for the availability of Yoruba. I did but was told Yoruba wasn't available then but only Igbo. But Yoruba would be available in the following year. He pleaded I connect him to the company. With free mind and spirit, I did. I wrote to the man who contacted me. Remember, I was yet to sign agreement but the onboarding was ongoing. I had received letter and was excited that ihe adịgo mma. I will not say I was too young neither do I have any reason to blame someone else. I was 23-24 years old. An adult. So, I take full responsibility of my stupidity. Because if I weren't stupid, why would I play with such a life-changing opportunity I got that time just by reaching out and selling my skillsets? In the the email, I gave good recommendation of him, telling them that should Yoruba language be opened the following year, they should stay in touch with him. He's the perfect fit. I copied him to the email and staged the connection. Guess what happened? He went behind me and collected the Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, and Swahili with discount, then outsourced them to others. M gbara aka. Smart right? Yes. He could be. I lost. A big blown loss that I would remember till the end of the world. Since then, I learned something new about humans. When folks later complain I was too watching my back and suspicious of their motives, they don't know that I also know their ulterior motives. We keep quiet, we are not mumu. This was the time I learned to start working alone. If you mention partnership to me, I will not reply you. Many don't understand the meaning of partnership. The survival mentality and greed are enormous. I focused doing my projects alone. If I lose, I lose, if I win, I win. Since that moment, I don't talk about things I am working on until result calls. You hear about them via throwback. They call me "one-man's Wolf" and I love the sanity it brings to do my thing my own way. Keep the ones I want to keep, share the ones I feel are necessary. I paused!

Jee chụba ego, ka ị baa ọgaranya aaa! "Enter abroad first, everything will work out." This is a big lie you have been told for years. This is the same as telling someone: "Enter Lagos first everything will work out. Enter Abuja first, everything will work out." How you enter matters more. What you enter with matters more. How you maintain your status matters more. "Don't worry, enter first, job full everywhere abroad." Lies. Big lies ever told. Let me explain things better. If you travel to any country with visiting visa you are not authorized to work — just visit and leave. But agent will tell you to get there first, work is waiting for you. You can convert your visa there. With a visiting visa, nobody will hire you. If they do, it's a criminal offence. Whatever work you do is illegal. If you are caught, you are in trouble. It depends: some places will not even allow you do menial jobs. Again, if you are out of status: your visa has expired, you couldn't maintain your status as a student, you will find it hard to get a job— especially documented job. Whatever menial jobs you do are illegal. If you don't have work authorization, you cannot be hired in certain establishment. Some places are tougher than others in strictness. Even to pack shIt you won't see. If you understand these factors, you will sit down, think through, plan yourself before you travel. Traveling is one thing, staying connected with reality is another thing. Some didn't see this coming until they reached abroad — they couldn't go forward or backward but existing in cycles. And if you have no relatives who like you, or willing to help you, OYO. Nothing like friends or ikwu na ibe abroad. You are on your own the moment your two legs touch abroad. The funny thing about abroad is that there's no sense of community. Everyone is running for their head. So, hoping on a community of people who are also fighting their demons to help you is insane. Cold will blow you belle. Nobody send you abroad. Even friends could stop picking your calls immediately you arrive and start calling. Plan before you travel. To travel no be problem, but ihe ya na ya so. I know many hate truth but listen more to agents to make mistakes. It's what it's. I paused!

I had the privilege at some point in my life to be very close to Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu. He was a great man When we formed APGA, I had a very important role Special Assistant to the National Chairman on Political Affairs Part of that role was to file all nominations with INEC From presidential candidate to House Assembly All the candidate's files passed through my table Many of them used to come and see me To verify all their details and particulars Including Mr Peter Obi, he came Many times On one occasion I had to take Ojukwu's forms for his signature He was at a suite at Ibro Hotel in Zone 6 Abuja When I got there that day He was in an excited mood That time the feeling of being a presidential candidate Made him very happy He will have the opportunity to transverse Nigeria To Campaign and speak to our people So I asked him about Biafra and why the war His mood changed, he was sober, nostalgic, angry He took time and told me a horrifying yet triumphant story That was nothing the only time he told the story We had many sessions with him during the campaign period Ambassador Ody Nwosu was there that day Mid way into the stories we were all in tears Ojukwu said, the war shouldn't have happened It was avoidable, but ego and hate lived the hearts Of many leaders then But he said nobody should fight again Especially when the person was not prepared for it If you see what is happening in the Middle East now Many of the victims are innocent civilians Who contributed nothing to the crisis Deaths, destruction, wailings and anarchy is present People will lose and the country may become a debris Nobody should fight, especially when they are not ready To my Igbo people, don't beat drums of war When you are not ready What we truly need is the Biafra of the Mind A thoughtful mental state for development To build the China of Africa A production and manufacturing hub Everyone will come to the place I have been to China many times More than 10 times, its not the best place to be From Nigeria, the distance is far, the food sucks Language is a barrier, yet you must go there If you want to play big in business and manufacturing That should be the target of Ndigbo Especially those in leadership, its doable If China can do it, we can also do it We need to be strategic, do away with greed and hate War is not good, especially when you are not prepared #fyp #followers #fypシ #viralreelschallenge #everyonefollowers

Being blessed with ancestral Agwu does not prevent you from embracing modernity. One day, while discussing with my late father who was widely known for his blacksmithing skill, he asked me “won’t you love to take over my skill when i depart?”. I laughed and answered “not now, I’ll finish school first, work in corporate firms and resume from where you stop when i finally retire”. He smiled and told me that life sometimes doesn’t work according to our presumed cycle. To my young mind then, blacksmithing is a skill reserved for old people and i can’t venture into that field at my prime. Little did i know that Agwu doesn’t translate to stagnancy. Fast forward to 2016, after all the academic sojourn, i found myself into similar field as my father. Being a Native stylist, and also into crafting of native Chieftaincy materials and accessories is an improved version of the skill in my father’s era. Any blacksmith still solely into melting and bending of metals to form farm tools in 2026 will definitely go hungry. Agriculture is now mechanized, mechanics and technicians now earn from farmers through equipment repair more than blacksmiths. That you come from the lineage of great seers and diviners or being blessed with such Agwu in 2026 doesn’t mean you should return to village and join your local counterparts. What happens to learning and mastering Ai too? Or you’re not aware that Ai tool is an of shoot of Igba afa? That you come from the lineage of great herbalists or being blessed with such Agwu also doesnt stop you from being a medical doctor, inventor or a researcher in 2026, you mustn’t settle only to cooking herbs and selling in plastic cans. That you’re from the lineage of great Agriculturists or your father was known for having the highest yam barn doesn’t limit you to yam cultivation alone. They’re other branches of Agriculture that are in high demand, you can also venture into real estate or build processing facilities. Blacksmithing has gone beyond melting and bending metals to create farm tools. Those foreign wrought iron gates, designing of metals using lasers etc are made by blacksmiths. Being gifted by Agwu is one thing, activating your agwu through you subconscious mind is more important than killing animal every Eke market day to energize it. Look inwardly for the talent and skills you have and constantly strive for a way to enhance, refine and modernize it. The world is changing, transform with it too.

JULIUS II: THE WARRIOR POPE This is Pope Julius II. He was the pope from 1503 to 1513. He reigned for one decade only. The choice of his papal name was not influenced by Pope Julius I but by Julius Caesar, the celebrated Roman general who conquered a lot of nations and who the 7th month of the year, July, is named after. Like Julius Caesar, Julius II replied to every threat from any perceived enęmy with an attack. This was why he was nicknamed the warrior pope. He too loved to fight. Julius II did not just send troops to wār. He led. He personally led the papal ārmy to the Siege of Mirandola and came back victorious. He also did the same at the Battle of Ravenna. Despite his defeats and losses, he forced the "French troops of Louis XII to retreat behind the Alps after the arrival of Swiss mercenaries from the Holy Roman Empire". In 1506, Julius II established the popular Pontifical Swiss Guards for his own protection. In the same year, he established the Vatican museum and began the rebuilding of St Peter's Basilica. Julius II had concluded every plan to launch a crusade against the Ott0man Empire [islāmic empire] in order to retake Constantinople but dīed a few days before the announcement. Most political structures of the Church we have today are traceable to him. After his deāth he was satirised or made a caricature of by Erasmus of Rotterdam, who made a cartoon of him where he was preparing to conquer heaven with his ārmy after having been denied entrance into it. "The smell of gůnpowder is sweeter to me than all the perfumes of Arabia." This saying was made by one of his cardinals, Cardinal Francisco Jiménez de Cisneros. But owing to Julius II's love for wār, many have mistakenly attributed it to him. I just remembered him on this first day of March, a month named after the Roman god of wăr and a month that marked the beginning of miĺitary campaigns and wārs in ancient Rome.
