Squeegee feat. primed wood panels 💗 it’s a pleasure how smoothly the wedge travels through the panel, and what a treat those accidental textures are 😍 I had this painting on my first exhibition and it was so interesting to watch how people reacted to it. The most memorable comment was from a person convinced I purposefully painted a bird in it. I could see it perfectly after he pointed out the beak and tail, if I didn’t know better, if also think it was on purpose. Have a great week everyone 🌞 ——- This painting was one of the biggest heartbreaks but also one of the biggest learnings. It looked absolutely gorgeous when I finished it, but I unfortunately used the wrong medium. In this one I used gel and it tends to dry with a little bit of transparency to it, that means whenever the lighter colors didn’t match 100% of the background, you could see through the other color. If done intentionally I guess it can look interesting, but that was not my case 💔 Additionally, for an unknown reason, the painting shrunk A LOT. Some shrinkage is normal, but this one was off the books. I was so sad and frustrated, I couldn’t look at it.
