Everyone, not matter their immigration status, deserves to be treated with dignity and decency. We will continue to hold government agencies accountable for their violations of our community’s rights. Phoenix City Council will be voting on Ordinance G-7467 today at around 3pm. The meeting begins at 2:30pm.
City council members urgently need to hear from you before they vote on an ordinance that would take critical overdose prevention and public health resources away from people in need. Send a message urging them to vote ‘no’. 🔗Link in bio🔗

Showering community members and press with pepper spray and tear gas while they observe and protest immigration enforcement actions in Tucson is the latest example of ICE and Border Patrol's lawlessness. Trump’s mass deportation agenda continues to fuel violence and violate constitutional rights, even against lawful observers and elected officials who stand up for their communities.
In 2023, the city of Phoenix refused to hand over negotiation documents with the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association (PLEA), even though by law the documents are public records. The Goldwater Institute sued to try to obtain these records. The Arizona Supreme Court recently held oral argument on the case, which will determine whether the city of Phoenix should have been forced to release the negotiation documents. We filed an amicus brief in support of Poder in Action, arguing that these records must be open to the public to preserve transparency and hold the city accountable for how it negotiates with law enforcement unions.
