The moment their 14-year-old saw Milo, she said, “That’s my dog.” And she was right — these two have been inseparable ever since. (Milo even sleeps in her room 🥹) Not only is Milo thriving with the two teenagers in the home, he is doing great with his two new cat siblings 🐱🐱 and has even made a new dog best friend, who goes on long walks with him! From surviving the streets to learning “Shake” 🐾 — meet Gravy 💛 Gravy is a 3.5-year-old spayed German Shepherd who arrived at our shelter emaciated with scars on her skin. A community member brought her in as a stray after finding her and Husky roommate Blueberry Muffin (who has since been rescued) adventuring in a field together. They say home is where the heart is — and Blueberry Muffin’s heart was waiting in Merced, California. ❤️ After arriving at our animal shelter as a stray on Nov 28, 2025, this sweet, playful husky’s story took a turn for the better when Merced County Stray Dogs recognized her on our website and stepped in to help bring her home. 🏡 Spayed, 4 years old, kid/dog/cat-friendly, and housebroken — this good girl checked all the boxes and then some. ✅ With help from @Mama🐶J’s🐱Furry🐷Ride-A-Long, Blueberry Muffin was transported north again — to the people who knew her years ago. 💙 It just goes to show — you never know who’s watching, remembering, and ready to help.

Swirly Girl came to us as a stray and quickly stole hearts with her endless energy and happy wiggles 🐾 🍭💖 During her time at the shelter, this gorgeous brindle Shepherd mix was friendly, playful, housebroken, and very trainable. She was even rocking a solid “sit” by the time she got adopted! She waited patiently to find her new home, living at the shelter for so long that she eventually held the title of our second longest resident dog. Hank’s happy tail 🐕🐾 Believe it or not, Hank was adopted and returned twice before being adopted last Saturday.
