Tried it for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised with the process. managed to clean most of the floor within 2 hours. This is just mad, I do remember doing it with a heat gun on my E46 missile - spent 2hrs for 1 footwell. waaaay more efficient with dry ice. let me know if you have any questions of process, have some tricks and tips. How it began: The expectations about the car's condition didn’t quite match reality. The original plan was to re-weld the side skirts, sills, and reassemble the car. But now, we're stripping the car down to the last bolt. The front windscreen frame is damaged, and the rear fenders show some rust. There’s rust under both the front and rear bumpers. And don’t even get me started on the wiring! It’s a 40-year-old car, so I get it, but it seems like there have been some wire gremlins in the past, which means all the wiring will need to be redone. It’s absolute madness, but since owning a rotary-engine car has been on my bucket list for a long time, I can’t just give up. 🫡 So, this is how it started: boxes of parts included, with some interior parts missing. The previous owner even tried to laminate forged carbon! The car stripping is in progress, and paint stripping has revealed how many times it has been repainted. We’re also pulling the engine out to renew the engine bay. Follow along, so you don’t miss out on the progress!
