RCMP arrested two students at Greenall High School in Balgonie after a person passing the area in their car reported seeing someone in a vehicle with a gun on a road near the school. Police seized three BB-style long guns in the school parking lot and arrested the two male youths. They said no one was hurt and there is no risk to public safety. #publicsafety #sask #canada #news

Kris Kinar lived with Erythropoietic protoporphyria (EPP), a rare sun-sensitivity disorder causing immediate severe pain upon sun exposure, for decades undiagnosed in sunny Saskatoon. Forced to remain indoors, he sought rare disease organizations, leading him to a clinical trial at Massachusetts General Brigham. There, he met Dr. Amy Yeung, an attending physician at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School assistant professor who also has EPP. The trial drug, Bitopertin, decreased protoporphyrin in EPP patients' blood by about 50 per cent, significantly improving light sensitivity. #CBCNews #Health #yxe #raredisease

Saskatoon firefighters say a semi crashed at Circle Drive and Millar Avenue around 7 a.m. on March 3. They say the semi truck hit a light standard, and its tractor unit was on fire until they got it under control an hour later. No injuries were reported. #crash #semi #sask #canada #news

Prime Minister Mark Carney's trade mission to India has produced a multi-billion-dollar deal for Saskatchewan-based mining company Cameco.  The uranium giant is expected to sell $2.6 billion worth of uranium to India over nine years. Eleven teams took off from La Ronge, Sask., in biting cold and blowing snow on Tuesday morning for the Canadian Challenge Sled Dog Race. The 10-dog, 322-kilometre (200-mile) race was shortened by 80 kilometres (50 miles) for safety due to harsh weather conditions.
