The mice were handled with care to minimize distress, adhering to ethical research guidelines.Under the supervision of Dr. Faisal, we initiated the dissection by making a precise midline incision on the ventral side of the mice. This allowed us to expose the internal organs systematically, avoiding any damage to the structures. Dr. Faryal Mehwish provided step-by-step instructions on identifying and isolating each organ while explaining their anatomical locations and functional significance.Throughout the session, all faculty members emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean workspace, proper use of dissection tools, and collaborative teamwork. Highly informative one-day hands-on workshop on mice dissection, expertly organized by Dr. Faisal and the MLT department at the University of Haripur (UOH) helped me greatly as a Biomedical Sciences student, this workshop was instrumental in providing us with invaluable practical experience. The session not only honed our laboratory skills but also deepened our understanding of biosafety levels (BSL 1-4) and the importance of adhering to the safety protocols along with ethical principles. Furthermore, we gained essential knowledge on safe animal handling and humane euthanasia practices.
