When Cesc Fabregas was coming through the ranks at Barcelona he idolised Pep Guardiola. In 2001, when Cesc was going through the pain of his parents' divorce, a Barca coach persuaded Guardiola to sign his famous number four shirt for the young protege. On it, he wrote: "One day, you will be the number four of Barcelona." When Fabregas was at Arsenal, Guardiola would call and text him to discuss how he would use him in his Barcelona system. After a long transfer saga, Fabregas joined Barcelona and took the number 4 shirt in 2011. Fabregas played under Pep for only one season before he took a sabbatical and eventually became Bayern Munich coach. He won a league title and Club World Cup but was underwhelming overall. On this day 21 years ago, Norwich owner Delia Smith delivered a memorable half-time speech that was meant to inspire the team.
