(Your boy is getting involved, more on that VERY soon) Went to support a place I love and jumped on the mic for a moment when someone I’m so honored to call a friend gave me this delightful praise. This town is full of strife and negativity and climbing over one another (as mentioned in this clip) so when there’s moments of appreciation from people you admire it couldn’t possibly mean more. I’ve been working crazy hard in this field these last 10/11 years and am starting to finally feel some solid ground, some of that imposter syndrome is finally wavering. Kevin is actually the reason I knew THIS path was possible Mallrats showed me other folks talked and thought like me; his evenings with’s showed me there was an audience and his Hall H’s directly led to my own (and accordingly he was one of the first people I reached out to when I booked my first one) so this was especially rad to hear. The world can be a negative space. The internet can be an even worse place. Passionate fandoms and geekdom can be worse still. Or they can be BETTER. We can be better. Say the nice thing. Share the nice thing. Be the person you wanted to know growing up. Just wanted to share a nice moment. Been a rough go lately, happy to spotlight some highlights! On Sundays when the schedule allows and like to tuck in and bag and board and sort that weeks books. This Sunday is special because thanks to @goldenapplecomicsig I get to also add to my vast back issue collection as well! I only needed 64 (now only SIXTY ONE!) more #Xmen books to complete my run and they had not just one but THREE I needed at prices that were fantastic. I love when a local comic shop doesn’t sit on Gold like Smaug. (Or silver age in this case, nerrrrrrd) but prices books to the point they make some money to ya know stay open as a business but also keeps collecting approachable and affordable. Didn’t know what to expect from CRIME 101 except a stacked cast. When Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Halle Berry team up, it definitely has my attention. Add to that, incredible actors right on the cusp of being household names like Barry Keoghan (Banshees of Inisherin), Melissa Barbaro (A Complete Unknown) Corey Hawkins (Straight of Compton) and Nick Freakin Nolte! Then it become a must see. What I didn’t know was that it would be a well written, incredibly directed, masterfully acted SUSPENSE THRILLER, set in and passionately about LOS ANGELES. The 101 in Crime 101 isn’t a play on a college course, it’s referencing a daily occurrence in my life, the 101 Highway. So much to say about this one. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! As a HUGE fan of SALTBURN I was so excited to see WUTHERING HEIGHTS. I’ve never read the book, I’ve never seen an adaptation. The most I know is Heathcliff is Heath Ledger’s namesake (fitting as that Jacob Elordi’s favorite actor) and that Tom Hardy played him in a BBC take on the classic novel. Before this 2026 take I didn’t know a single other fact about the original story and honestly that’s how I’d recommend you see it. I went with 3 people and as the person who knew the least had quite the experience with it. Margot Robbie continues to use her movie star powers to push bold films to be made, and Emerald Fennel continues to be a director I’ll always check out the work of. (And what a run Elordi is on!) Between Into the Spiderverse AND Across the Spiderverse, then Mitchell’s Vs the Machines and then just last year’s K-Pop Demon Hunters we’re talking some 90’s Disney/2000’s Pixar level consistency here. So where does GOAT (2026) factor into that? Is this a championship team playing at their best? Or is it The Patriots during SUPER BOWL LX?! This film is a fascinating mix of NO FEAR Trapper Keepers and NBA STREET Stylings but with today’s storytelling.
