@reddigitalcinema released the first version of the Helium 8K sensor back in 2016 as the Weapon 8K S35 and Epic-W. Since then it has been incredibly popular for wildlife and natural-history productions, thanks to its super 35 sensor size, high resolution and fantastic high frame rate capability! It has also been used on plenty of series and features films including Mindhunter, Stranger Things, Mortal Engines, Nobody and Triangle of Sadness, as well as being used by NASA to capture the first 8K video in space! The Blackmagic PYXIS 12K is finally in filmmakers hands and shipping. Canon have launched their latest RF mount VCM prime, the 85mm f/1.4. This new lens brings the VCM range to a total of 5 lenses now from 20 to 85mm. They are a solid choice for both photographers and filmmakers wanting a nicely balanced series of prime lenses for their RF mount system. The Leitz HEKTOR’s have arrived! A new set of six mirrorless mount cine primes, aimed at offering historically inspired optical quality with great character. The set consists of an 18, 25, 35 50, 73 & 100mm all of which are T2.1. With their modern and compact housings, the HEKTOR’s are perfect for solo operators and smaller crews and will even balance and work on the DJI Ronin 4D! @reddigitalcinema have just launched their latest camera, the V-RAPTOR XE. Built on the V-RAPTOR [X] platform, the V-RAPTOR XE brings the uncompromising image quality of RED’s large format global shutter sensor at a new entry point. It provides the essential features found in V-RAPTOR systems including R3D recording at up to 8K VV 60p, 4K 120p, and 2K 240p, and is available in both Nikon Z or Canon RF mounts. But does have some features missing like Phantom Track and Extended Highlights found in the [X]. It’s going to cost roughly £11,100 or €12,750 body only excluding VAT and it will also be offered in the Cine Essentials bundle, which looks like good value!
