Working with two completely different textures ✂️ My client has two contrasting patterns, tight curls on the top and straight hair underneath. The underneath simply doesn’t have a curl pattern, so there was no way to “make” it curl. Instead, I used clever, intentional layering to create movement and softness that would blend seamlessly with the very curly top section. It’s all about working with the hair you have, not against it. The result? A beautiful transition from tight curls to looser curls and straight blended, balanced, and full of movement Every head of hair tells a different story. Short Layers for Long Curly Hair ✂️✨ My model wanted more lift at the crown while keeping her beautiful long length, and she wasn’t afraid to go shorter on the layers to make it happen 🙌 She has two different textures, curlier on top with straighter pieces underneath at the back. Kicking off my Pop-Up Tour in Cardiff at @thrivsalon_ ✨ After a busy day transforming curls in Cardiff, I had time to film a collaboration reel with curl specialist @jade_pointon_studio . Our model had never been shown how to style her natural curls before. My model had a natural mix of textures, flatter wavy hair through the crown with stronger curl patterns underneath. To create more lift and balance, I added shorter layers at the crown and used varied tension throughout the cut, respecting the looser waves on top and the tighter curls beneath. After years of straightening, my model was ready to embrace her natural curls and waves➰〰️ We went for a V-shape haircut to create softness and movement at the front while keeping that length and fullness at the back 🔻
