Miso Char Siu Pork Belly AD Char siu has always been my go-to dish to make for family and friends. It's smoky, sweet, savoury and sooo comforting. Cooking it with quality ingredients from @Waitrose & Partners turns homesickness into elevated home comfort 💙 500g pork belly 150g Thai jasmine rice 200g pak choi 1 egg A sprinkle of Cooks' Ingredients Spicy Sriracha Sprinkle Pork marinade: 2 tbsp hoisin sauce 1 tbsp light soy sauce 1 tbsp Cooks' Ingredients White Miso Paste 1 tbsp Shaoxing cooking wine 2 tbsp brown sugar 1 tsp Chinese five spice powder 1⁄2 tsp white pepper powder 1/2 tsp garlic salt Honey glaze: 4 tbsp honey 1 tbsp warm water Slice the pork belly into 1-inch-thick slabs. Using a fork, prick both sides of the pork all over. This helps tenderise the meat and allows the marinade to absorb better. To make the marinade, combine hoisin sauce, light soy sauce, Cooks’ Ingredients White Miso Paste, Shaoxing cooking wine, brown sugar, garlic salt, Chinese five-spice powder, and white pepper powder in a small bowl. Mix well. Place the pork into a zip-lock bag and pour in the marinade. Massage the pork for about a minute until all pieces are evenly coated. Press out as much air as possible, seal the bag tightly, and refrigerate overnight to marinate. Place the marinated pork into the air fryer and cook at 195°C for 16 minutes total. After 8 minutes, brush the top side with honey glaze, flip the pork, and continue cooking for another 8 minutes. For extra char, glaze the pork one last time, increase the temperature to 200°C, and cook for a further 3 to 4 minutes. Remove from the air fryer and let the pork rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with rice, a fried egg, and blanched pak choi. Finish by sprinkling Cooks’ Ingredients Spicy Sriracha Sprinkle over the egg. #HomeOfFoodLovers #charsiu #porkbelly #cantonesefood

Cantonese Crispy Pork Belly (港式燒肉) ad For me, Christmas is all about cooking up a succulent Chinese meal, spending time with family and getting absolutely destroyed in a game of mahjong… I love how compact and portable the @Ninja UK Ninja CRISPi is. I can prep everything the night before, pack it up and take it to the party, then cook the pork belly fresh while we’re playing mahjong. The pork comes out freshly crispy and perfect for serving straight to my guests! Recipe: 700g pork belly, skin on 1 tbsp white vinegar Pork marinade: 1 tsp Chinese five spice powder 1 tsp garlic powder 2 tsp sugar 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp white pepper powder 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine Thai dipping sauce (nam jim jaew): 3 garlic cloves, minced 2 tbsp minced coriander 1 shallot, diced 2 tbsp fish sauce 1 tbsp brown sugar 1 lime, juiced 1 tbsp water 1 tbsp tamarind paste 1 tbsp toasted rice powder 2 bird’s eye chillies, chopped Parboil the whole pork belly (skin side down) for 15 minutes to remove scum and soften the skin. Trim the bottom if needed so it cooks evenly. Poke lots of holes in the skin with a fork without piercing the meat, then pat dry. Cover the skin with a thin layer of salt for 20 minutes and wipe off the moisture. Score the meat side (not the skin), marinate and wrap the meat in foil. Pat the skin dry again, brush on a little white vinegar and leave it uncovered in the fridge overnight. Remove from the fridge 30 minutes before cooking and brush on another layer of vinegar. Roast for 25 minutes in the Ninja CRISPi, wipe the skin, then switch to Air Fry for about 30 minutes until it’s golden, bubbly and crispy. Rest for 15 minutes, then chop and serve with rice or a Thai inspired dipping sauce. #ninjacrispi #crispyporkbelly #siuyuk #燒肉 #氣炸鍋燒肉
