📌 In #Ethiopia's Amhara region, barriers to timely healthcare severely impact patients with life-threatening, time-sensitive, neglected tropical diseases such as #snakebite. Most of our patients’ testimonies highlight critical obstacles: insecurity along travel routes, transportation costs unaffordable to most, and initial recourse to traditional remedies. These delays can lead to preventable complications or deaths. Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (#MSF) has provided quality medical care for snakebite and kala-azar at its Abdurafi centre since 2003, serving migrant farm workers and local communities. We call upon all relevant parties to ensure safe and unimpeded access to healthcare, allowing patients to obtain immediate life-saving treatment for time-sensitive diseases and preventing avoidable fatalities. #MSF #AccesstoHealthcare

The Global Gag Rule, as expanded by the Trump administration in 2017, already forces foreign non-profit organizations to agree and prove that they will not provide, promote, or even speak about safe abortion care—or they can’t receive any US foreign aid. A new policy from the administration includes the most restrictive version of the Global Gag Rule to date, and it includes new rules that add troubling restrictions on gender-affirming care and diversity, equity, and inclusion. #healthnews #lgbtqiaplus #dei

An explosion of systematic sexual violence in the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince is terrorizing communities, and has had a direct impact on the bodies of women and girls. Diana Manilla Arroyo, MSF head of mission in Haiti, explains findings from a new MSF report documenting the alarming rise of sexual violence cases amid the insecurity that has gripped the country for years.
Mpox spreads through close physical contact; like handshakes, hugs, or kissing and contaminated objects. Stay vigilant in crowded places like markets, matatus, and tuk-tuks. Avoid touching the skin lesions of anyone who might be infected. If you feel unwell or notice a rash, head to your nearest health facility immediately. #MpoxAwareness
#creatorsearchinsights During his visit to Khartoum, MSF International President Javid Abdelmoneim highlights the current humanitarian crisis in Sudan, his personal experience as an emergency doctor in the country, and the need for further international support to the people of Sudan. #TalkaboutSudan #keepeyesonsudan #doctorsoftiktok
Here is one of our roving teams in action, responding to a measles outbreak in remote Baringo county, Kenya. In hard-to-reach communities like these, many people are exposed to outbreaks without reliable health care options and instead rely on traditional remedies and unlicensed private clinics, leading to poor treatment. MSF’s roving team travels nearly 100 miles a day to deliver care where it’s needed most, working closely with community health promoters in active case finding. MSF has also set up an inpatient isolation ward, provided medical outreach, and supported a mass measles vaccination campaign in the area targeting children aged 6 months to 9 years. #DoctorsWithoutBorders
In Gaza, access to clean water is a critical challenge. With the power plant destroyed and entry restrictions on solar panels and generators, communities struggle to pump water from boreholes. In response, MSF created a temporary solution to facilitate access to water to Palestinians living in areas unreachable by water trucks. This vehicle travels to approximately seven locations daily, providing electricity to pump water into tanks for domestic use. Last year MSF teams distributed nearly 185 million gallons of water in Gaza. But we’ve been unable bring supplies into Gaza since January 1, after Israel began steps to ban MSF and other nongovernmental organizations from Gaza and the West Bank. Access to safe water is just one of the vital services we help provide in Gaza. Palestinians need more humanitarian aid—not less. MSF continues to engage with Israeli authorities so we can maintain our lifesaving activities and support Gaza’s decimated health system.
More than 90,000 Congolese people fleeing recent violence in their country have sought safety in Burundi, where many of them struggle to access water and basic health care. In these extremely difficult living conditions, authorities have confirmed dozens of deaths. MSF is committed to improving access to essential health care and water, and ensuring high-quality, free services for people living in the Busuma camp to prevent further deaths. #DR Congo #Congo #Refugees #refugees

"I am tired of using the word 'devastating' and 'catastrophic'... people will be left with less than a skeleton infrastructure for receiving lifesaving medical assistance." Doctors Without Borders USA CEO, Tirana Hassan, joined The Weekend: Primetime on MS Now on January 10 to discuss the health needs of Palestinians, and Israel's decision to ban dozens of aid organizations from Gaza.

You may have seen the news that Israel is threatening to ban Doctors Without Borders and more than 30 other international organizations from operating inside Gaza and the West Bank. Listen as Doctors Without Borders USA CEO Tirana Hassan explains what this would mean for Palestinians in Israeli-occupied territory. Moves to withhold registration from humanitarian organizations would further restrict lifesaving aid amid catastrophic needs. We are one of the largest providers of medical care in Gaza, supporting one out of every five hospital beds. We continue to engage with Israeli authorities to maintain our vital operations and support a health system that has been largely destroyed. Humanitarian aid must never be used as weapon.
This is what medical care without borders looks like. Across the world, we stood alongside people in crisis, listening, treating, and caring. While 2025 has been a year full of challenges–conflict, disasters, attacks on health, and funding cuts–our teams continued to respond to some of the most difficult and complex humanitarian emergencies in our history. #2025recap
Sudan: “Despite everything happening in El Fasher, the world is silent.” After two years of ongoing violence, displacement, and a collapse in the healthcare system, we need to get loud and #TalkAboutSudan. On October 26, 2025, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) took control of El Fasher, the last Darfur city held by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Joint Forces. The violence was staggering. In the documentary “El Fasher under siege,” MSF patients who survive mass atrocities in El Fasher and fled to Chad recount their experience during the monthslong siege that preceded the attack, the violence and destruction they witness, and their longing for the place they once called home.
