I posted this 2 years ago and realized it was incredibly fitting today given the recent conversations about how the olympians eat!
Athletes need fuel and fuel comes from a lot of carbs, fat and VARIETY! There’s also no blanket “optimal” way to eat. What’s optimal for one person will look very different compared to what’s optimal for another person.
To add to this: I tried calling initially but was on hold for over an hour and ended up having to hang up which is why I went the messaging route. Secondly, I know the responder is not AI because they have an email signature and I looked them up and it’s a real person. So many people panic about numbers they see on the scale without realizing that most of that change is likely fluid, organ tissue and muscle. Gaining fat can also be completely normal when coming from a period of restriction so it’s not something to freak out about. Hall et.al 2012 and Bray et.al 2012 are 2 great studies about composition of weight gain.
Obviously the 34 week appointment would be the one sooner than the 36….?
