Now do you understand where I get my genes? 😂😂😂 Had a flamingo fashion show with guests. My party theme was hot pink and flamingos. Everyone understood the assignment. Strutted the runway with feathers, costumes, glitz and glam. Dad wore a flamingo tie and graced us with a headstand… not once, but twice! This. Is. 50. I’m 50. Today! 11/11. Born 1975. GenX. I had the honor and privilege to sit for my brilliant photographer friend, Jennifer Gershon of @vizzzuals this past Sunday for my birthday photo shoot. I’ve shot with her several times in the past. She is beyond amazing with her craft. Found this glorious pink feather dress online and hoped it would ship on time. The pink popped with the studio backdrop. Felt like a queen. I sat for two hours in a little warehouse studio in Bristol, as she moved all the lighting and props around me. She edits with a painterly style of photography,… even before there was Ai! Nowadays people can just plop themselves right into Ai photos and become anyone… However, this image is me… ALL me, sitting on a chase, in a tiny studio, giving Ann-Margret-and-Susan-Sarandon-had-a-baby vibes in this fantastic dress… not sure what era I belong in but hey… it’s giving. 🤩 Ha! I’m so thankful for my life and breath and the adversity endured which has brought me here, learning resilience and a supernatural strength. We have not been promised an easy life, but we are here to rise out of every trial that we face. So many changes in my life today, but it t’s given me a fresh new focus, new beginnings, new season, new chapter, new decade. Thank you, Jennifer, for shooting me. It’s always such a pleasure. I’m so proud to be 50! I thank the good Lord everyday for my breath … and for getting me here. No Kings! My signs read: “Miss Fabby-Do for President” “Queens Rise Up” “No Kings!” Went to “No Kings” alone … but knew I’d see so many people I knew. I love my small town community of Doylestown, PA! Amazing peaceful protest. I blew my bubble gun for two hours straight and made people so happy. Lots of hugs from people I didn’t even know. People yelling my name, “Miss Fabby-Do, Miss Fabby-Do!l” I shot my bubbie gun at every car that went by, filling their windows with whimsy. They gasped and smiled!
