There’s a solar cycle that is related to the strength of the northern lights. The peak amplitude of Solar Cycle 25 is predicted to already be occurring, after which activity will likely steadily decline until the solar minimum in 2030-2031 according to NASA and NOAA forecasts, but aurora chances this year may still be strong, as some models are predicting a lingering “double peak” in 2026. There are no guarantees with the northern lights (you need darkness, clear skies, and aurora activity!), but we are hoping for another special year of aurora lights dancing across the sky! #northernlights #icelandtravel
