The Craigslist K****r | The Case of John Katehis / George Weber | This is an interesting case because no one knows for sure exactly what happened that day, besides Katehis… When I listened to John discuss this case in a documentary, he seemed truthful in spots, dishonest in others. There’s definitely something off with him... His interrogation is emotionless. Obviously the pics of him all over his pages didn’t help his case. But of course Weber isn’t innocent in this. Not that his fate was justified, but he clearly crossed several lines leading up to those final moments. There’s a couple other connections to Vancouver Island, including a charity & a 2005 hotel stay in Victoria by Maxwell. Very interesting that he was denied entry into Canada in 2018, just as he and Krauss are discussing the property in Canada. Also just one year before the 2019 incarceration… It’s all of course far from the worst stuff in these fiIes, but just crazy to see how far reaching this all was/is. Replying to @Care🍉 Serial to Mass? | Like I said, I think certain SK types seem more likely to go the mass route today. The big reasons for that seem to be the age of the web, and all of today’s technology/advancements that the average 70s SK didn’t have to contend with... They go in knowing they’ll be caught right away. For some it’s about being remembered. Others it’s simply about taking their rage out on the world, whether it be their feelings toward women/society as a whole. The mental side of the equation is obviously huge. While there’s so many avenues to better yourself now, which could’ve helped reduce the number of SKs, there’s also people who are on the opposite side of that, but now they have the internet, and like I said, little hope of evading capture… SKs like the Zodiac or David Berkowitz, 'Son of Sam', would’ve probably been chronicaIIy onIine and more likely to go the mass route today. Replying to @Nikki Monroe Did Lead Create SK’s? | This was definitely the No. 1 comment by y’all, & I agree. The lead theory has always been an interesting one for me, especially factoring in the chiIdhoods of so many SK’s… I wouldn’t discount the possibility that lead could’ve been the difference in many cases. Gary Ridgeway & many others were subjected to massive amounts of the stuff… In the case of Bundy, his upbringing didn’t have many of the usual markers. ( He did have the illegitimacy thing as a kid, which I always felt added more to his makeup than he ever admitted ) But we now know Bundy breathed in a TON of lead, especially given the smelter/massive amount of lead use in Tacoma, Washington at the time. Could lead have played a primary role in Bundy developing into what he became? But to elaborate on what I said in this, lead didn’t effect everyone the same. Most people’s brains probably weren’t altered to any noticeable/concerning degree. But at the same time, it is interesting that so many SKs came from that boomer/silent generation, right when lead was most prominent… Anyway, I’d like to hear all your takes on this. #truecrime #truecrimecommunity #crime #truecrimetiktok #crimetok

BEST Since Mindhunter? | 'Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy' I love that this show doesn’t take the easy route… It actually takes the time to tell you this story, primarily from the v•ctims/the families perspectives. The dive into the investigation side/Gacy’s lawyer was also incredibly well done. Chernus as Gacy is SPOT ON. Everytime he’s on screen it just feels exactly like all the existing footage/recordings of the actual John Wayne Gacy. Everyone’s acting is phenomenal. This show, and 'Blackbird' are some of the only great true crime based series since 'Mindhunter' #truecrime #tvshow #truecrimetiktok #devilindisguisejohnwaynegacy #johnwaynegacy

Not only do they NOT make them like this anymore… They’ve never made them quite like this. Dark is a time travel show, but it’s also a show that makes you sit in silence with a scrambled 🧠 left pondering all the fun/horrifying existential questions 👌 It’s the best show you haven’t seen ( I know it now actually has a pretty big fan base, but NOT NEARLY BIG ENOUGH ) It’s the only 10/10 show for me. If you aren’t as in love with DARK, I get it. It’s a convoluted show that could lose a lot of people, and some of the directions they go are pretty out there. Try it if you haven’t. Replying to @CallmeDave99 Where’s All The Serial K•IIers? | Many, ( I believe ) are getting caught before they ever become SKs... Cameras around every corner, cell phones, DNA analysis constantly still evolving. Not leaving behind some kind of digital footprint seems near impossible… MOST are getting caught the 1st time, and not the 20th like in the "Golden Age” of SKs ( 1970s-1980s ). BUT at the same time, it’s not totally improbable to consider the possibility that there could be as many/more than the latest 'less-than-50' '35' estimates... Just as always is the case, I’m sure there’s people who’ve slipped through the cracks. SKs, even in 2026, could still operate in rural areas/small towns where police drop the baII, or are ill-equipped. Then again, ones operating in big cities like New York could benefit from the chaos of a fast moving, busy environment where police are flooded with cases. If we’re talking all of North America, remote areas of Canada are almost tailor-made for people to go missing & never be found ( 'Highway of Tears' in BC ). Regardless of the area, targeting the vulnerable/cases that are still less likely to be pursued by law enforcement is something SKs, both old and new, have done, & will continue try and do. Pair that all with someone whose occupation allows for/includes a lot of travel ( truckers ). And perhaps the most chilling category of all… The types like Keyes. No pattern, no breadcrumbs, carefully planned… RANDOM. Anyway, there were many avenues I touched on in this without going into crazy detail. Kinda just threw this together to the best of my knowledge & focused on the key factors ( in my super non-expert/unqualified opinion ). Give me your two cents on this.
