The most recent incident happened on January 30th in Ferguson. Police say 28-year-old Shannon O’Brien, a rideshare driver, was shot and killed just before 4 p.m. in the 1700 block of Windward Court. Officers responding to reports of shots fired arrived to find her suffering from gunshot wounds.

Family members of Dametria McDile say they are now questioning whether negligence played a role in her death while in custody at the St. Louis City Justice Center. According to relatives, a fellow detainee contacted the family and stated that there was an urgent medical situation involving Dametria that allegedly went ignored. The family believes that failure to respond in time may have contributed to her death, though these claims have not been confirmed by officials. Loved ones say they were later notified of her passing with limited information, leaving them searching for answers.

Reports are coming in of a woman being shot in the Park North apartment complex, formerly known as Northwinds, in the 1700 block of Windward. Police were called to the scene after shots were reported in the area.

THANK GOD NO ONE WAS HURT 🙏🏽 St. Louis fire crews responded to a second-alarm apartment fire this afternoon in the Central West End. It happened just after 3 p.m. in the 5200 block of Waterman Blvd, not far from Forest Park. Firefighters immediately began search efforts and evacuations throughout the building. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported but the building was occupied and more than a dozen people were displaced. Shoutout to the St. Louis Fire Department for the quick response. The New Real STL News has learned that Animal Control officers are actively patrolling near Redbud Avenue after the St. Louis City Health Department confirmed reports of four monkeys on the loose in the area. These animals are considered exotic and are not legal within city limits. No breeders are currently known to be operating in the city, raising questions about how the monkeys got there in the first place. As of now, none of the monkeys have been captured, and they are presumed to still be roaming freely. Officials are urging the public not to approach the animals, warning that monkeys can act aggressively and unpredictably. If spotted, residents should immediately call Animal Control at 314-657-1500.
