POV: You’re the only pop of color in the Seoul subway 🎨🚇 Everyone else: black, gray, more black. Me: choosing ✨main character energy✨ in neon. In a city where all-black fits are basically a uniform, standing out feels illegal… but kinda iconic. 😌 Would you wear color on the Seoul subway—or blend in? 👀 📸thanks to @dohwangduong for sharing!

☕ “No English Orders” at a Seoul Café — Rude or Reasonable? 🇰🇷💬 A notice banning English orders at a café in Korea has sparked online debate after spreading on social media. Recently, a post appeared on Reddit — one of the largest English-speaking online communities — showing a sign posted at a franchise café in Jongno, Seoul. The notice read (in English): “This is Korea. It is not a country where English comes naturally. If you don’t know Korean, please use a translation app. If you are traveling, please follow proper manners.” The foreign customer who shared the post claimed that a staff member pointed at the sign and behaved rudely. They said the issue wasn’t just the message itself, but how it was delivered, and even shared the café’s location and photo, stating they wouldn’t return. 📸reddit However, as the post gained traction, many overseas users took the café’s side, saying things like: 🗣️ “There’s nothing wrong with the notice itself.” 🗣️ “Using the local language or a translation app is basic courtesy when traveling.” 🗣️“It should have been said more politely to tourists.” 👇 What do you think? Is the sign rude or reasonable?
It’s city vs sea vibes😂 Seoul’s subway melody feels calm and polite—almost like a gentle reminder to move along. Busan’s? Louder, faster, and full of bird sounds, ocean waves… just like the city by the sea. 📸thanks to @Nathan Kang Poll: Same purpose, totally different energy. Which one matches your vibe?

📮 Four New Year 2026 commemorative stamps featuring baby animals will be released on Jan 28. Korea Post, under the Ministry of Science and ICT (@withmsit), announced the release of 480,000 stamps highlighting traditional Korean words for baby animals. The stamps feature names like 개호주 (a tiger cub), 능소니 (a bear cub), 동부레기 (a calf), and 애돝 (a young pig at a specific growth stage). While these words aren’t commonly used today, they’ve been passed down through old documents and folk records. ✨ These rare terms reflect how deeply our ancestors observed nature—carefully naming each stage of life with affection and precision. Korea Post explains that remembering and recording such words helps preserve cultural diversity and ecological sensitivity. 🛒 The stamps will be available at major post offices nationwide and via the online post office. 📸 Korea Post (우정사업본부) @korea.post
Pics of men walking in the streets of Seoul looking like they literally just got out of bed are going viral in Korean online communities🥶😂 Who could blame them as the lowest temperatures reached -20C with heavy winds? So the next time you walk around Seoul, it’s not just black padded jackets that are on trend. It’s the cozy thick blankets that come in various colors, too! 📸online community What do you think of this bold fashion choice?❄️🥶
Ever wonder why brands like The North Face, Discovery Channel, or National Geographic feel extra Korean? 🤔🇰🇷 You’ll spot these logos everywhere in Korea—especially on jackets, fleece, and hiking gear. Here’s why 👇 In South Korea, these brands operate under local licenses, meaning Korean companies own the rights to design, produce, and market them specifically for the Korean market. Over time, they evolved from outdoor brands into everyday lifestyle fashion—stylish, functional, and perfect for Korea’s hiking culture, four seasons, and trend-driven consumers. That’s why: • Designs are more fashion-forward than global versions • Items like fleece jackets became daily wear, not just outdoor gear • Some collections exist only in Korea 📸 thanks to @seoulee_kelly So next time you see half the subway in matching fleeces… 👉 It’s not a coincidence—it’s K-style licensing at work.

Is a portable battery an essential in your travels? That could be over on Jeju Air flights now. Starting January 22, 2026, the low-cost carrier has completely banned the use of portable battery packs on both domestic and international flights in an effort to reduce the risk of fires caused by lithium-ion batteries. Concerns over in-flight battery bank usages have increased after a major fire incident involving an Air Busan aircraft at Gimhae International Airport in Busan in January 2025. Under existing rules from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, passengers already could not charge portable batteries in the cabin. Jeju Air has now taken a step further by outlawing their use entirely during flight. The airline says it will notify passengers in advance through its website, check-in kiosks, and messages so travelers know to fully charge devices before boarding. Are you traveling via Jeju Air soon?
